Grizzy Miller, founder and CEO of PediStat is a native of Cuba who immigrated to South Florida as a child in 1960. As a registered nurse with over 10 years of hospital experience Grizzy cared for many Oncology and Pediatric patients. These sociologic and clinical backgrounds, along with her experience as a mother of six and grandmother of sixteen (and counting), combined to inspire Grizzy to open a home care company that would service the unique needs of the pediatric population of South Florida. Thus, PediStat was born in 1990 and has expertly cared for our community’s medically fragile pediatric patients for almost two decades. Grizzy’s devotion and dedication to our patients and their families is evident by her continuous and generous sponsorship of programs that benefit them, including the Follow Your Dreams Foundation, Children’s Medical Services Annual Holiday Parties, and the Miami Children’s Hospital VACC Camp. Pedi Pec, with medical daycare facilities that service the same population, was a natural outgrowth of PediStat and was opened by Grizzy in 2003 with the same exacting standards of excellence and quality care that have earned PediStat the well deserved reputation for providing superior service along with cutting edge technology to our family of pediatric patients.

Alison Garfinkel graduated from Florida International University with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing science. Her experience as a mother of four and as a neonatal nurse in South Florida hospitals provided excellent preparation for her role as Director of Clinical Services at PediStat. Alison is dedicated to assisting families who find themselves in the stressful circumstances of caring for a child with health challenges and she does so with the unusual empathy that can only come from having been the mother of a medically fragile child herself. Her role as Clinical Director is not only to provide medical equipment and supplies, but to consider and ease all the emotional and practical aspects of setting up what can amount to a mini hospital at home.  Alison is passionate about teaching and enabling the caregiver to feel in control of their child’s medical care. She is an invaluable ally to any family preparing for this often difficult transition.

Alicia Morgan has been with PediStat since 1994, working in customer service as well as billing and collections. Currently serving as both our Senior Customer Service Representative and Office Manager, Alicia infuses our company with her special blend of compassion and professionalism. Alicia is expert at helping families navigate the complex world of insurance coverage in order to assure that our patients have access to all their benefits. She, and every member of her team, works closely with local hospitals, doctors and social workers to assure that our patients receive all the necessary equipment and supplies in a timely and professional manner. Alicia’s expert knowledge of the regulations that govern our industry guarantees that PediStat adheres to all government regulations when providing equipment and supplies to our patients. Her soft spoken and kind manner have earned her the admiration and respect of referral sources and patients alike.
